Some consider responsibility and authority to be a personal matter best addressed by adaptations to existing policy, procedure and classifications. Others see the authority/responsibility issue as one of many indicators of the need to restructure the entire field of librarianship. "Responsibility" is a key word in the classroom and, as teachers, we play an important role in helping students become responsible — interpersonally, personally, at home, and in the local and global community.
